Development of Spaces and Ramp

Client 2 (Hawkings) axonometric which was used to create the space inside the wall.

Hawkings Space is very technologicaly advacened with bright lights and a glass wall to look inside. This is made this way because he was an astrologer for alot of the time whilst studying and the ramps are not made into stairs because he is disabled and the thought of his disability is taken into consideration in creating his space.

His space was created and rendered in a much more unique way than Nightingale as Hawkings would spend much of his time inside rather than out due to his disability. So to create a space that would allow him to still be able to appreciate the outside environment whilst being inside was important. His quote -

“If human life were long enough to find the ultimate theory, everything would have been solved by previous generations. Nothing would be left to be discovered.”

The glass wall which seperates himself and the outside is able to serve as to an extent something which will help Hawking to generate ideas to solving problems.

Looking through this ramp which is made in the form of a trench as Nightingale visited the front line. Though looking through the tunnel is the window of her space - here we can see the Union Jack which is a representation of her homeland (England). As we was volunteering to be a nurse in Turkey at the time. In referrence to her quote that i chose -
“How very little can be done under the spirit of fear”
This can be closely related to her attitute of helping others and trying to save te lives of others with no regard for her own health. This is an example of how Nightingale put her fear of death aside and did all she could and did so by saving so many lives and now is seen as an honourable humanitarian.
