I decided to fix upon my previous gallery to aid the individual experiencing the gallery to create n atmosphere of there the picture will go. For Swallow's work of"Killing Time", the feeling of being in a gallery on the upper level of somewhat in a cave where it has aged with time like his work. Which is of dead fish being carved of wood. His studio is the centre of the building with big glass panels, i thought this was appropriate in that he could see his surroundings as a means of generating ideas for future work. With the concept of experiencing the use of space and structure of the stairs. The Stairs being spiral and being unique as it hits the top as everything is not symetrical and rocky would give the individual a feel of nature and as it has to be time, how nature has aged with time.
Nolans' painting of Ned Kelly is at the bottom of the gallery. With the walls of the outside of the room of the gallery made to look like bars was designed in that people inside the gallery looked like they were in a room behind bars yet it may seem trivial from the inside as it cannot be seen - just as Ned Kelly did not know he was doomed as soon as he turned into a rebel.
The Stairs have been created with different heights and widths for the individual to get a sense of being uneasy and feeling a little edgy. As all stairs in this building have been textured with my own sketches. The colours chosen for the bottom level have also been taken into consideration, as Kelly spent most of his days in hiding in the bush - the colours chosen are that taken from the Ausralian Bush (Outback of NSW and VIC).
